For charity purpose on 20th February 2014 with my family made a visit to Maria Sharan Ashram which is located at Kesnand Village (Theur Road), Wagholi, Pune.

Maria Sharan Ashram is an NGO which helps poor and underprivileged girls only for completing their education, they have boarding facility in 1 acre RCC building fully secured neat and clean premises, students from 1st to 12th standard are admitted in the nearby schools.

There are total 57 girls residing in the Ashram, background of the girls are like 10 to 12 girls do not have parents or relative they were brought to the ashram by a NGO, few girls parents are beggars at Pune Railway station, few of them are of single parent or have father who is drunkard, few of them do not have home live on streets and lot many reasons for not having any support to go to school, but finally they are now in safe hands at Maria Sharan Ashram. 

There are students who have scored from 85% to 90% marks in Board exam of 10th and 12th without any extra coaching classes. While I was interacting with the girls few of them said I wish to become Police Inspector, few said I wish to become a Pilot, looking at their interest of conversation with me Sister asked me to make a visit to ashram on holiday or whenever free on Sunday and guide the Girls for choosing career as there are 15 girls who are appearing for 10th and 12th board exam this year 2014.

Ashram has total area around 10 acres where they have a beautiful farm of vegetables, they also have pet animals, a poultry, Sister took us to the farm and asked my wife Swapnagandha to pick fresh vegetables from the farm, she loved it a lot. My son Parth got easily mixed up with girls and started playing with them in ground. My son Shubham also liked the premises very much as he likes the pet animals a lot.

The Ashram is fully controlled and administrated by Sisters only, this women's day I salute the Sisters who proved that women are more than capable to take any challenges alone without the support of any male.
